2012 Commercial
Brewer and Brewery Entries
If you are interested in pouring your brew(s) for the Commercial Tasting, please contact Bill or Laura Lodge.
We welcome new breweries & importers and extend an invitation to you as brewers and owners to participate in this specialty gathering and the Big Beers, Belgians & Barleywines weekend festivities. The guidelines that we have set forth for the beers that are offered during the Commercial Tasting specify that each beer must either be of a Belgian style or have an abv level of 7.0% or above. If you have any stylistic questions or a beer that is more of an experimental nature than following specific style guidelines, please ask. We are extremely interested in innovative techniques and styles, as this entire event was created to educate the general public.
You need not have an arsenal of Big Beers to participate in our event. Several breweries bring a single beer for our Commercial Tasting and thoroughly enjoy the proceedings.
Our brewery registration deadline for the 2012 Festival is October 15, 2011.
As a Commercial Brewer, we would also be interested in your assistance with our Big Beers Homebrew Competition judging, which takes place Friday afternoon. Our judges convene at 1:30 pm and the event begins at 2:00 pm sharp. Please contact Laura if you are interested in participating.
In addition, the 2012 Festival again features our Experimental Brewing Seminar showcasing some of America’s most innovative brewers. As a brewer, you may well find this worth getting up for on Saturday morning! In addition, John Mallett of Bell’s Brewing Co. and J. Todd Usry of Breckenridge Brewery will be presenting seminars immediately following the Experimental Brewing Seminar. See the Seminars page for further information.
As a participating brewery or importer, you earn two complimentary tickets to the Commercial Tasting for those who will be staffing your table. You may invite up to four additional people to attend with your brewery (six total), and their admission will be half price ($25 per person). These folks can volunteer for a volunteer shift as well, and as volunteers can earn the remainder of their Commercial Ticket fare (ie. brewery pass + 1 volunteer shift = free admission).
